The shelter huts and mountain inns mentioned here can be reached within a day (order clockwise beginning in the west): Hochfirst (Y) crossing trail 29 and Timmelsjochstrasse, easy to walk, 2 hours 15 min. Siegerlandhütte (X) crossing the Grossen Schwarzsee (number 29) and the Windachscharte, difficult to walk (steep, snowy terrain, hidden ice), 4 hours 30 min. Müllerhütte (W) crossing the Grossen Schwarzsee (number 29), Schwarzwandscharte and Übertalferner, difficult to walk (glacier), 5 hours 30 min. Becherhaus (V), trail to the Müllerhütte, 6 hours or crossing the Schneebergscharte (number 28), Sieben Seen (number 33) and Teplitzer Hütte, difficult to walk (in the last part snowy terrain, safe mountain path), 9 hours. Teplitzer Hütte (U) crossing the Schneebergscharte (number 28) and Sieben Seen (number 33), not too difficult, 6 hours. Grohmannhütte (T), same trail as to the Teplitzer Hütte, 5 hours. Poschhaus (P), also Poschalm or Moarerbergalm, crossing the Schneebergscharte (number 28), not too difficult, 2 hours 15 min or crossing the Sandjoch (number 27A), not too difficult, 3 hours 15 min. Hochalm (Z) crossing Hochwart (number 27), not too difficult, 5 hours. Further information on the huts under www.13h.de.
